Who We Are

Green line is a clearing and forwarding company that is aimed at making a stamp mark in the freight business. We value attributes like time and money and put them on top of our schedule whenever we are dealing with our clients. We understand that you are time specific in clearing your imports and exports, we appreciate that there is need for being financially realistic and thus we present economical approaches to get your goods cleared as we are well aware of the possibilities the success of your business creates for us and the economy at large. We host a team of both young and old agents who bring a diverse a approach to the business from work experience to academically trending knowledge of the freight world.

Why We Do It

Green line was founded by individuals who are greatly passionate about the freight business. It started as an idea as many other businesses but with the specific objective of making the clearing and forwarding process easier, faster for the clientele due to an  organized approach of the clearing process and easily accessible .

How We do It

The clearing process involves a procedural series of events the various freight stations, different countries have slightly different procedures but common protocols on the most part.

In East Africa;

The clearing process generally involves coordination between the Kenya Revenue Authority custom officials and the clearing and forwarding agents in this case us (Green line Co.)Prior to the arrival date the shipping line lodges an online manifest with customs and ports authorities where the number of the shipment is notified by the shipping line to the ports authority. The freight station is also communicated to the authorities which may differ depending on the nature of the cargo or a special request from the client/ importer/exporter, this is where the goods will be cleared from.  A customs entry is made when the clients’ goods arrive at the freight station during which the clearing process takes place.  Once the manifest is uploaded online and the entry is made the original bill of lading duly endorsed by the consignee is submitted to the shipping line for issuance and release of a delivery order.

Uploaded entries are passed after payments of duties or confirmation by exemption of letter code in the customs systems.  After which a folder is prepared by the customs agent which is responsible for the creation and provision of relevant documents to customs. This is just part of the clearing process that we handle and are accountable for once you become our client. Our aim is to make the process easier and time saving for our clients. 

We also arrange transportation of your through our various contractors to the clients destination to any part of the country.
